At The International School Bangalore (TISB), we believe in fostering not only academic excellence but also a strong sense of social responsibility and community spirit. Charity initiatives are deeply embedded in the fabric of school life, empowering students to combine creativity, leadership, and teamwork with service to society.
Across the school year, a range of student-led flagship events bring the TISB community together, raising significant funds for noble causes while building essential life skills in our students. From sports leagues and fitness challenges to mega cultural and business festivals, each event is designed to inspire participation, nurture leadership, and contribute meaningfully to the wider community.
VIVUM is TISB’s flagship interschool cultural and sporting festival, entirely organized and overseen by Grade 12 students. It has grown into one of Bangalore’s most anticipated events, attracting participation from around 25 external schools.
The festival features an impressive array of activities—including sporting tournaments, poetry slams, music and dance competitions, photography exhibitions, fashion shows, and more. A signature highlight is InSpirit, TISB’s version of TED Talks, where distinguished external speakers share ideas that inspire the student body.
Beyond the excitement, VIVUM develops leadership, negotiation, teamwork, and event management skills among Grade 12 students, while remaining true to its charitable mission. Proceeds are directed to carefully chosen charities, including organizations such as the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research and the Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation.
Xavage is TISB’s annual business and economics fest, conceptualized, designed, and run entirely by students. It provides a dynamic platform for participants to test their entrepreneurial acumen and creativity in a high-energy, competitive environment.
Signature events include the Mock Stock Exchange, Crisis Management Simulations, and the Shark Tank–inspired Eagle’s Cage, alongside quizzes, auctions, and business case challenges. Over the years, Xavage has also welcomed renowned speakers, including Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Imran Khan, and Boman Irani, who have inspired students to think beyond the classroom.
The ethos of Xavage revolves around innovation, responsibility, and enterprise with impact. All proceeds raised through the event go towards supporting charitable initiatives, such as women’s empowerment in business and entrepreneurship, making Xavage both a celebration of ideas and a vehicle for meaningful social change.
The JBPL (Junior Boys Premier League) and JGBA (Junior Girls Basketball Association) are unique, student-led boarding traditions at TISB. Exclusively for Grades 5–9 boarders, these leagues are entirely conceptualized and managed by Grade 9 students, giving them ownership of everything from scouting and auctions to team management, logistics, and match officiating.
Both events go beyond sport—they instill leadership, responsibility, and community spirit in the organizers and participants alike, making them truly one-of-a-kind traditions in boarding education.
The TISB Park Run is a cherished tradition that unites students, parents, staff, and alumni in a celebration of health, fitness, and philanthropy. Held annually on the school’s green campus, the event encourages wellness and collective action.
Beyond the run itself, the Park Run serves as a fundraising initiative for partner charities, such as Snehagram, a centre dedicated to the care and empowerment of HIV-positive adolescents. It reflects TISB’s belief that even small steps can make a lasting impact when taken together as a community.
