Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)
Students in Lower Grade 1 to Grade 5 take part in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) once a week for an hour. These sessions are offered through a mix of external providers and the TISB teaching team, giving students the opportunity to explore their interests and talents. They can choose from a wide range of activities including Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Chess, Robotics, Space Education, Drama, Art and Craft, Maker’s Space (Wood Workshop), Indian Karate, and STEAM.
After School Activities (ASA)
Students Grades 3–5 can take part in a wide range of after-school activities that support both physical development and creative expression. Sports options include Soccer, Cricket, Swimming, Basketball, and Badminton, with students receiving professional coaching from our team of PE specialists. In addition, there is the opportunity to join the PY Musical Theatre from Term 2. This provides students with opportunities to develop their musical talents, build confidence, and perform as part of an ensemble.
Music Instrumental Programme
Students are given the opportunity to take instrumental or voice lessons booked in a block of 10 lessons per semester. Children are given the chance to also show what they have learned through participation in recitals and other events. Our aim is to give every child the chance to perform, and in addition to performing music as a soloist.
Student Voice
At TISB, we believe that student voice is central to developing confidence, responsibility, and leadership. In the Primary Years, Grade 5 students take on leadership roles as Prefects. Each Prefect is responsible for promoting the PY Values, acting as a role model, and leading initiatives with the support of teachers. These responsibilities help them build leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, while also fostering confidence.
Celebration Assembly
Students in LG1 – Grade 5 have weekly assemblies focusing on aspects of personal, social, physical education (PSPE), as well as discussing celebrations. In addition, they take part in assemblies to recognise their good work. Praise Certificates are awarded each week in assembly for exceptional work, progress, effort or demonstration of the Learner Profile Attributes.
Experiential Trips
Experiential learning is an integral part of the Primary Years at TISB. Students enjoy day trips linked to units of inquiry—such as the Planetarium, Fire Station, and Heritage Walks—as well as age-appropriate residential experiences. Personal growth begins in Grade 3 with a campus sleepover, followed by a Grade 4 adventure camp that fosters outdoor learning and teamwork. In Grade 5, a two-night camp builds community, resilience, and reflection on real-world issues. These experiences nurture confidence, independence, and connections beyond the classroom.
