Mrs Kate Reynolds graduated from Bristol University with a law degree and trained in London specialising in litigation. She later transitioned to education, completing her PGCE at Bath Spa University before teaching English and Drama, working in a pastoral capacity then leading an International Programme for overseas students. Kate completed her Masters in Educational Leadership at Buckingham University and went on to lead two international day and boarding schools in England.
Kate puts the child at the heart of decision making, ensuring they thrive pastorally and academically. She believes a happy child is one who loves coming to school, flourishes in a sparky and varied learning environment and has the curiosity and confidence to try every opportunity, unafraid of failure or judgement.
TISB is Kate’s first international Principal role and she is thrilled to take over the custodianship of such a prestigious and aspirational school.
Mr. Naveen Tom has been a part of The International School Bangalore since 2006 and proudly calls TISB his first home. With over two decades of experience in education, he brings a wealth of expertise in both academics and pastoral care.
During his tenure at TISB, he has served in several key leadership roles including Master in Charge of Economics, Head of the Department of Social Sciences, Boarding House Master, IBDP Coordinator, Deputy Principal – Pastoral, and now Senior Deputy Principal. He also serves as one of the school’s Child Protection Officers, underscoring his strong commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
An experienced IB Economics examiner, Mr. Naveen has been serving the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) as a Senior Team Leader for the Economics Extended Essay since 2010. In this global role, he guides and mentors examiners worldwide, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and fairness in assessment.
His career reflects a balance of academic excellence and a deep dedication to student well-being. Mr. Naveen is passionate about creating a safe, secure, and happy environment for students. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening TISB’s boarding and student support systems, ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, and inspired. His nurturing approach complements his academic vision, enabling students to thrive both personally and academically.
Beyond school, Mr. Naveen is a TEDx speaker, an avid traveller with a particular love for wildlife safaris (with the tiger being his favourite animal), and a keen sports enthusiast. He enjoys basketball, cycling, and badminton, and believes strongly in the role of sport in building resilience and teamwork.
He firmly believes that education at TISB goes beyond academic success, it is about shaping confident, compassionate, and responsible global citizens.
Mrs. Vijayalakshmi holds a master's degree in mathematics and a Bachelor of Education, bringing over 32 years of rich teaching experience, including more than two decades with the IB curriculum. At TISB, she has served as both an IGCSE and IB Coordinator and continues to teach Mathematics, inspiring IB students to develop a genuine love for the subject.
Her deep understanding of student learning and teacher development stems from her extensive experience in education. With a gentle approach and compassionate leadership, she fosters collaboration among colleagues and strengthens the TISB community.
As Deputy Principal – Professional Development, she leads the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of professional growth initiatives that enhance teaching quality, leadership capacity, and student outcomes. By aligning staff development with the school’s mission and international best practices, she nurtures a culture of continuous learning across the school.
Ms. Bhaswati Bhar is the Deputy Principal – Academic at The International School Bangalore (TISB), where she leads the school’s academic vision, curriculum development, and assessment standards. With over 20 years of experience in education — including 17+ years at TISB — she has consistently demonstrated excellence in academic leadership, faculty development, and student achievement.
At TISB, she has served as IGCSE Coordinator, Head of Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS), and a teacher of IGCSE Biology, IBDP ESS, and Theory of Knowledge. Under her leadership, TISB students have achieved outstanding results, including world and India toppers in the June 2024 examinations. As an IBDP and IGCSE Examiner, she brings global expertise to her role, ensuring that TISB’s teaching and assessment practices align with international standards.
Her passion for environmental education and interdisciplinary learning has driven numerous student-led projects and research initiatives that connect classroom knowledge with real-world issues. With a strong background in academic coordination, team mentorship, and curriculum innovation, she is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across the school.
Mr Bimal Ravindranathan is a dedicated academic leader and experienced pastoral mentor, currently serving as Deputy Principal - Pastoral at The International School Bangalore. Now in his nineteenth year at the school, Mr Bimal is known for his strong commitment to the wellbeing and personal growth of all students and staff, helping to nurture a welcoming, caring, and student-focused school environment.
Having taken up several key leadership roles over the years—including IBDP Coordinator, Mr Bimal has played a vital role in overseeing curriculum, supporting faculty, and shaping both academic and pastoral programs. With a deep understanding of the IBDP and IGCSE curricula and a talent for building supportive relationships with students, teachers, and parents, he brings a well-rounded approach to school leadership and student success.

Mrs Amy Wright is a dedicated educational leader with more than 28 years of experience. At TISB, Amy champions a holistic approach to education that prioritises both academic achievement and the well-being of students. She works closely with staff and parents to ensure that students' welfare is a central part of their educational experience.
Amy is passionate about creating a supportive and welcoming environment where every child feels valued. She is also the go-to person in PY for events and shows. In her capacity as a Child Protection Officer, Amy is responsible for ensuring all stakeholders receive up-to-date safeguarding training.
Amy's extensive leadership background includes serving as a Headteacher at St. Peter's Junior School in the UK leading on Behaviour, Special Needs and Curriculum. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in international education from the University of Keele.
Archana is a passionate educator with over 15 years of experience working with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds across ICSE, CBSE, Cambridge Primary, and the International Baccalaureate (PYP).
A Bachelor of Architecture, she holds DELTA (Young Learners) and CELTA from Cambridge and Master Trainer certification in Concept-Based Inquiry.
She has taught elementary students and mentored teachers, combining her love for teaching, learning, and inquiry-driven education. She works closely with colleagues to maintain academic rigour at TISB and empowers students, teachers and parents to engage with current pedagogical research through training and workshops. She believes that concept-driven learning not only builds knowledge but also fosters skills, attitudes, and values that prepare learners for life beyond the classroom.
