Rohan, Grade 11, Chosen as Barefoot Youth Ambassador Program
Congratulations go to Rohan, Grade 11, for being chosen as a Youth Ambassador for Barefoot College.
After a highly selective application process, Rohan was chosen to join the founding batch of Ambassadors. As you can see from the attached ambassador profile document, he is joined by a very impressive and ambitious cohort of urban youth from across India.
The Barefoot Youth Ambassador Programme is a pilot program connecting urban youth to rural realities through the work of Barefoot College in Rajasthan, India. Barefoot College is a globally recognised non-profit blended social enterprise, which has worked with last mile rural communities in 17 states in India and 93 countries for nearly half a century. The organisation was founded in 1972 following the lifestyle and work style of Mahatma Gandhi.
Although the application process to be a Youth Ambassador has now closed for this year, it is certainly a project that future TISB students should be encouraged to apply for, and an overview of the Barefoot College Youth Ambassador Program can be found HERE.
