The Fitness Handbook For Children: A Step-by-Step Guide For Fitness At Home
The unusual circumstances that the world has found itself in this summer has triggered many people's passion.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing paralysis of India, most children are unable to play and exercise safely. In particular, the Indian Government school children do not have access to devices or access to the internet, and are therefore unable to receive academic or physical education.
Our TISB 10th Grader, Vedanth Nandivada, has created a handbook, 'The Fitness Handbook For Children: A Step-by-Step Guide For Fitness At Home', for children to do simple fitness exercises at home without any equipment.
Vedanth has been passionate about athletics and fitness, and has lately been trying to make a small difference in the lives of underprivileged school children in India by inculcating lasting habits of health and fitness.
The handbook has been published in 3 languages; English, Kannada and Telugu. With support from various NGOs, over 3,000 copies have been distributed to government school children and orphanages in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The handbook is also available as an e-book on Kindle Unlimited (opens in new window) for free, as well as a paperback edition for purchase on Amazon (opens in new window).
