Destiny: Where Do Your Eyes Lie – Poetry For the Curious
The poetry book called ‘Destiny: Where Do Your Eyes Lie’ has been written by Grade 11 student, Devarya, and is now available on Amazon and Notion Press. The book aims to answer the questions “Are we the authors of our own journey? Or engineers of another’s?” as we people progress unknowing of the third party’s history and sufferings, not knowing how our actions turn their tables, too instilled in our own. We got in touch with Devarya to find out more about the book and how it came to life.
I have always loved to adhere to unconventionality, and with regards to my passion for poetry I only felt it right to apply my skill into it – Devarya, Grade 11
Devarya wrote this book as he felt a need, or rather duty, to evoke the curiosity in the minds of the readers and question their methods of progressing. “One should analyse any relevant aspects they find mentioned in the book which has impacted them personally and question their present stature”, says Devarya who finished writing the book in December 2020. When done with the writing, Devarya went on to do researcha and found the publishing platform ‘Notion Press’. After proof-reading, the book got published on the 6 January 2021.
The target audience of the book is anyone ranging from 13 years and older. The book aims to provoke the reader to think about how our thoughts, attitudes, behaviours and actions impact other people in the world, for better and for worse. “There are aspects which I am sure have impacted everyone's life at least once mentioned in the book through poems and it is sure to engage the audience and entice their knowledge and eyes”, explains Devarya who's passion for poetry will continue provoking these types of questions.
This is the description of the book on Amazon:
"Are we the authors of our own journey? Or engineers of another’s? Destiny aims to answer that very question. We progress unknowing of the third party’s history and sufferings, not knowing how our actions turn their tables, too instilled in our own. While we search for justifications to pacify our vile thoughts, the figures in the opposite lane incur the harm. One cannot grasp their destiny. Does it stand pre-inscribed? The answers stand distant, laughing hysterically.
Identify the aspects of your destiny which taint another’s. Are you worthy of controlling the havoc you wreak unknowingly? Does your existence impact their destiny for the better? Shall we alter our perception to perceive change? Question your destiny. For no questions lead us to no answers. And when the world is desperate for answers, no one dares to question. Surely it is your life, but is it only your journey?"
