The best part of TISB is the work culture, the environment is so positive and supportive – Ms Vijayalakshmi
Having 28 years of teaching experience, Ms Vijayalakshmi began her career as a Mathematics teacher in 1994, teaching the CBSE syllabus until 2001. At the end of 2001 she moved to Bangalore and joined TISB in January 2002. Having been an IB teacher since her beginning at TISB, then assigned as a IGCSE Coordinator for almost a decade, and IBDP Coordinator since 2020, this is now her 18th year at TISB – where her passion is both magnificent and inspiring. “The students are determined and aspiring. It is a great feeling to be a part of this community”, says Ms Vijayalakshmi, who feels proud and happy to contribute to making students enjoy learning Mathematics. “I am so delighted to see the achievements of every batch. I enjoy their accomplishments and feel glad for the toppers and equally excited and pleased for the students who have pushed themselves so hard to make a difference.”
Since the last couple of years have been mostly online and not on campus, Ms Vijayalakshmi is passionate about being back on campus, physically meeting fellow coworkers, and, of course, engaging and teaching the students in real life. “It feels so great and relaxing to be back onsite and see the students physically sit and interact in a classroom. We as teachers were missing their bright smiles and responses”, says Ms Vijayalakshmi, who feels like this has brought us all back to real life and that it is great to see the students getting back to their routines.
Being back to the school and the campus really motivates Ms Vijayalakshmi, and she commemorates all students, particularly the Grade 11 students who have been selected as Prefects. “My hearty congratulations to all the Prefects! This is a well-deserved recognition. This batch of 2022-2023 is an incredible and promising set of students”, says Ms Vijayalakshmi, and adds how positive role models every single student of this batch will be, contribute to their juniors, and leave a great impression to add to the history of TISB.
