She has gotten her poetry published in a number of magazines and journals. In 2019 she published a book called 'On the Sidewalk', dedicated to her daughter and reflecting her journey through life, seeing life rushing by in the cities that she has lived in. We reached out to Ms Indu to find out more about her past and her vision for the future.

It is exciting to explore more ways to ensure focused student participation – Ms Indu, English and TOK Teacher

Ms Indu has worked for the last 28 years with English teaching, as well as other academic administrative roles. Being on her fourth year at TISB, she believes in the school’s well-thought-out systems set in place to promote holistic development of learners that encourages a community of enthusiastic students. “The part I enjoy the most is when students get interested in a topic or a work of Literature beyond the concerns of academic success leading to genuine engagement”, says Ms Indu, who feels that poetry adds a greater meaning to her life.

As for the near future, Ms Indu is looking forward to more engagement in physical school. “The idea is to make academic success easy for students, and a natural consequence of meaningful engagement”, says Ms Indu, who also appreciates feedback from students. “I am happy when a student tells me that I have helped them in some way to do better in studies and in life.” Ms Indu was recently contacted through the school by a former student that she taught in Mumbai, who wanted to thank her for the way that she has shaped his life.
