Teacher Portrait – Mr Benny
Originating from Wayanad in Kerala, Mr Benny, TISB’s Head of the Library Department, grew up in the rural green paradise of God’s own country. Being a Postgraduate in English and having a degree in Education, Mr Benny started of his career as a teacher. Following his passion, he completed a Postgraduate degree in Library and Information Science, which steered him towards his career choice. We contacted Mr Benny to find out more about his history and what he envisions for the future.

Having worked and lived at TISB for 19 years, Mr Benny has made the TISB campus his home. “The spacious green campus will keep your mind and body healthy”, says Mr Benny, who has always appreciated the community spirit of the school. Being a part of the community, he is passionate about sharing his library joy: “I believe that my work with the students will foster in them a lifelong love of reading and learning and help them become critical thinkers and global citizens.”
Being the beginning of a new year, Mr Benny has a vision for the upcoming future. “I am looking forward to welcoming more students to the world of books and reading in all formats and media”, says Mr Benny, who is planning to conduct more sessions on academic honesty and looks forward to continuing his work with IB students in their Extended Essay processes.

I like gardening as it rejuvenates my mind and body and is a suitable way to get in touch with nature. Additionally, you get to eat the delicious fruits, vegetables, and herbs that you grow.
