XAVAGE – Back in Business
Every year the TISB XAVAGE event occurs, a business event which is arranged and carried out by Grade 12 students. The event is conducted to give students the opportunity to apply their business cleverness in a competitive environment, to further their business and economics knowledge, as well as learning more about the field from practical experiences and in an entertaining context. This year XAVAGE will take place between the 23-24 October. We reached out to the organising team to find out more about the event and why you should join.
It allows students to practically apply theoretical concepts of business and economics in real-world scenarios, preparing them as future trailblazers in the field – Seongjoon, Grade 12
Being the second online edition of XAVAGE, the 2021 Grade 12 student-led team has prepared a range of new and exciting events, ranging from ‘The Stock Market Simulator’ to the ‘Economic Crisis Response’, as well as events such as the ‘Corporate Vs. Trade Union Debate’. “Each event comes with a twist that hasn’t been seen before at any competition around the city”, says Pranav and explains that although being online, the team has put effort to replicate an authentic XAVAGE experience as possible for all participants.
The XAVAGE event is open to all students in Grades 9-12 from schools all over India, as well as from other countries in the world. “We encourage all high school students interested in business and economics to take part in the event”, says Rishima, and that since it is free of charge this year “students from all backgrounds can participate.” The events will take place via Microsoft Teams, along with event-specific platforms, such as Discord, as well as “an in-house simulator built by our own IT team for the stock market event”, explains Seongjoon.
All proceeds from the event will go to good causes related to social and economic development and entrepreneurship among unprivileged communities. Thus, XAVAGE is not only a competition, but a social event which raises funds for local charities. As Pranav and Rishima puts it: “We encourage you to register now for an opportunity to enhance your knowledge, win amazing prizes, and do your bit to contribute to our charitable causes!”
