Ultimate Sports Quiz
The Ultimate Sports Quiz 2022 is currently about to broadcast with TISB’s great students, Sreyas & Kundhavi from Grade 8 and Grade 9. The show will be aired on Sony Sports Network starting 5 June 2022 every Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm. The event will be hosting students from 22 cities, 27 schools and 54 students who are battling it out. We reached out to Sreyas and Kundhavi to learn more about the competition and what they would recommend to other students.
It felt unreal being there with Mr Harsha – Kundhavi, Grade 9
The Ultimate Sports Quiz (USQ) is a big event, taking place in big facilities and with the famous host and presenter Mr Harsha Bhogle. “He’s absolutely amazing and super down to earth. Gave us pep talks when we had breaks in filming and before filming and was really supportive overall”, says Kundhavi, who had the pleasure of meeting Mr Harsha the day before filming the first round. “He was really nice and told us it was about enjoying the experience and not putting too much pressure on ourselves”, says Kundhavi, who is an enthusiastic fan.
The event is related to different Sports, which requires participating competitors to know about things such as cricket, football, baseball, basketball, Formula 1 and much more. The questions needed quick answers and it is difficult to predict what would be asked. “I thought it was really fun being part of this activity because I hadn't experienced anything like this before”, says Sreyas, who enjoyed the event, despite it being a competition for which they managed to learn a bit of everything that was covered.
Competing with the other students from different schools was made into an exciting and friendly programme. “We had a long wait before we filmed one of the rounds and we were all just sitting around and talking”, explains Kundhavi, who enjoyed meeting them as all the students were about the same age and had gone through similar experiences. “We were sharing stories and having a good laugh, but when we went on stage we were all still very competitive. I definitely learnt a lot from the others there.”
Sreyas and Kundhavi planned strategically how to perform their best when carrying out the competitions, and has a suggestion for potential new students in the future. “I would recommend everyone to take some risks because there isn't much to lose when you're falling behind”, says Sreyas, who along with Kundhavi gave their best shots.
