It is my honour to win this award – Dvija, Grade 11
The Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards grand finale took place virtually on 25 March, where all the winners were presented with a certificate and a medal. Few of the participants were awarded financial prizes and a few winning stories were shared. Dvija decided to partake in the award because she saw it as an opportunity to address the farmers’ problems on a wider scale, providing recognition and motivating her and the farmers to work harder towards the goal. “This award has helped me look at the world from different perspectives”, says Dvija, who has been greatly motivated to solve other problems in society and provide more people with equal rights and resources.
Dvija will be utilizing the award and present it to her Swarnim Krishi project, so that it receives credibility and achieves higher goals for the future. “This award is a way to celebrate all those farmers who switched to organic farming”, says Dvija, whose project was established and started as a 1M1B Future Leaders project. This additional success helps to motivate the farmers, who have previously been hard to convince for two reasons: accepting switching to organic farming, as well as refusing to listen to young people. Dvija hopes that yet another step ahead might provide a successful and healthy future.
