Spotlight – Grade 12 ‘22 Graduation

On 3rd April, the class of ‘22 became just that – the most legendary graduated class of ‘22. With our formal graduation from school marking the next milestone in our journey, we were finally off on our own, young adults taking new paths towards our future.   

I’m sure we speak on behalf of our entire grade when we say our graduation itself was a magical ceremony. Whether it was hearing the advice and honest, humourous opinions of the parent speaker, going onstage to receive our certificates, revelling in the nostalgia of the music performances, listening to inspirational speeches by Dr. Bindu Hari and Dr. Gopal Krishna, sharing our closing thoughts with the entire grade, or taking hundreds of pictures afterward, the experience of graduating was indelible.   

Now, having officially graduated and having experienced our last day of school, it hasn’t sunk in yet that we will no longer go to the place we called our second home for so many years. But now, there is a sense of closure and acceptance to move on and face life’s new challenges, and I’m sure all of us can’t wait to see what comes next. 

The future is uncertain for us all. If anything, the COVID-19 pandemic taught us that. But even through the pandemic, friendship, love, and family found a way to persevere. And so, we know that regardless of where we go in the next year or what we do, the Trojan family will always be there for us. And so, we aren’t afraid to take risks, do what we enjoy, and follow our passions. We aren’t afraid to ask for help when we need it, because we know there is someone on the other side who will give it to us. And we aren’t afraid to venture into new paths, because we know that retracing the paths will always lead us back home. To all the batches that come after us, keep this in mind too. Because you are family as much as we are, and graduating is only a marker of a new beginning, not an end.
