 Update - 30 January 2020

After being nominated by Ashok Young Changemakers for the World Summit Awards, Kaajal has been chosen as on of the Under 26 Young Innovators Winners 2019.

The Awards will take place in Vienna at the WSA20 Global Congress from 8 - 12 March 2020, where after pitching to the jury in Vienna, one overall winner will be chosen

Congratulations for getting this far Kaajal, and good luck in Vienna!

After being diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) when she was 13 years old  Kaajal, now in Grade 12, was advised to keep a diary to note down repeated behaviour patterns.  She found that her therapy was being disrupted by not having a diary with her, which led to her deciding to create an app to alleviate this problem.  In 2018 Kaajal launched her app, Liberate: My OCD Fighter which allows sufferers to log development and facilitate recovery by providing various resources such as cognitive behavioural techniques to the user.

Since the launch of the app, Kaajal has delivered an inspiring assembly at TISB during the Psychology Assembly, and has also been chosen as an Ashoka Young Changemaker

The Director of Ashoka Young Changemakers wrote "The selection panellists were very impressed and felt that you meet the high standards expected of an Ashoka Young Changemaker. Through this recognition, we take this opportunity to honour your passion & commitment to being a changemaker at such a young age and sharing that power with others."

The Times of India also wrote an article on Kaajal's achievements which can be read here: Times of India

The Principal said "we are so proud of Kaajal's achievements so far, and I am quite sure that her app will go on to help many OCD sufferers over the forthcoming years.  We look forward to following her progress."
