TISBMUN – Results are here!
On December 18-20, 2021, the eleventh TISBMUN was hosted for Grade 9 to 12 students – participants from all over India, and some from other parts of the world, such as Oman and the US. With 150 participants, both experienced and beginners, who gave their absolute best over the three days, TISBMUN has grown and become one of the best MUN conferences in the country. We reached out to the organisers to get the results and had MUN Prefect Shrey from Grade 12 answer a few questions.
TISB IntraMUN is coming up soon! – Shrey, Grade 12, MUN Prefect
The three-day online TISBMUN conference hosted six committees: United Nations Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), German War Room - Continuous Crisis Committee (CCC), All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), and International Press Corps (IPC). All of the committees brought engagement, but Shrey explains how extra enthusiasm was created by a couple of the features: “Our German War Room committee was a novel inclusion and created incredible excitement for everybody participating. Moreover, the fiery press conferences kept everyone on their toes!”
Due to COVID the team had to manage with people dropping out and participants being confined to their homes. “We'd like to thank the whole organising team for improvising and adapting to put up our best conference”, says Shrey, and gives an extra commendation to Mr Anand and Mr Pavan, for taking time off during the winter break to assist the student-led team along the way.
Coming up is the TISB IntraMUN, an event for students at TISB to compete and get introduced to MUN. “We're excited for this opportunity for all TISB students to seize this learning opportunity, since we'll be sharing exclusive tips and feedback during the event days”, explains Shrey.
