Durga, Grade 11, receives appreciation for her abstract and monograph
Durga was the youngest speaker and the only student who was selected to speak at the National Seminar. She received a Certificate of Appreciation and an Honorarium of Rs. 2,500.
Below, Durga explains in her own words:
The abstract and monograph titled 'Transcending Boundaries: Rediscovering Ancient Tamilakam' that I had submitted was selected for a presentation and technical session at The National Seminar on Geo-archaeology, Christ College, Irinjalakuda, supported by the Kerala Council for Historical Research.
My research focussed on reconstructing the historical polity of Ancient Tamilakam by using archaeological and historical techniques to analyse the translated Tamil book, Manimekhalai.
The transdisciplinary national seminar also invited noted experts in the fields of archaeology (Dr. P J Cherian, Director, Pattanam and Mathilakam excavation, 2020, Prof. RVG Menon, an engineer and Chairman of PAMA Institute for the Advancement of trans-disciplinary Archaeological Research, and professors of archaeology from University of Kerala, Christ College etc.), physicists from Thermoluminescence Lab of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics (AMOPH) Division Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad.
