Lockdown Diaries – Creativity for a Cause
Recently two of our TISB students, Mahika in Grade 5 and Aarushi in Grade 8, have participated and won third and second place in Lockdown Diearies short Story and poetry segments.
The COVID-19 pandemic and the following lockdown has put us in a situation where parts of our personalities have been highlighted while we have been confined to our homes. Some of us have used this time to pursue new hobbies, and some have turned the situation into an opportunity to rekindled with old hobbies and even finding new ones – using our creativity to express ourselves. Many times this creativity has resulted in outstanding creative work.
‘Lockdown Diaries’ opened on the 15th of July and finished on the 8th of August 2020, and was a competition arranged in cooperation between Secure Giving and the Concern India Foundation. The competition was for students 9 years and older and had three categories: short Stories, poetry and art. All of the proceeds from the competition went to the Concern India Foundation, that works with education, health and community development.
TISB students Mahika in Grade 5 and Aarushi in Grade 8 were two of the winners in the competition. Mahika wrote a short story that won third place in the competition; and Aarushi got second place in the poetry segment.
